Therapists

Christine Glasser Lamps, LCSW, CEDS

I obtained my BA from the University of Virginia (1994) and my MSW from the University of Michigan (1997). I specialize in treating children and adolescents as well as adults with difficulties such as depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. I also specialize in treating teen girls with self-harming behaviors.  Additionally, I enjoy working with couples to strengthen their marriage, as well as parents and children going through divorce.  I believe therapy works best when clients set their own goals, are willing to try new skills, and are open to examining their own role in the system.  I have extensive experience and training with both individual, group and family based approaches to treatment. I also offer clinical supervision for clinicians pursuing Licensure.  I have been practicing as an Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2000.  I received my Certification as an Eating Disorder Specialist in June of 2016.

Erin Butterworth, LCSW

I obtained my BA from University of Richmond and my MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University.  I offer a warm, compassionate approach to therapy in helping people with issues such as stress management, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and life transitions.   I incorporate mindfulness and embodied awareness in every session and enjoy using art therapy techniques during the treatment process. I work with children, adolescents and adults.

Rebecca “Becky” Jacobson, LPC, ATR, LMT

I truly value working with those within the therapeutic setting facing issues related to grief and loss, life transitions, parenting, stress, anxiety,  interpersonal relationships; and overarching personal growth, purpose, and healing. My approach stems from my training as an art therapist and counselor, as well as my training in mind-body practices, somatic and polyvagal work, grounding and centering techniques, and working with attachment styles and patterns. I completed my Masters in Art Therapy & Counseling in 2012 at the George Washington University. Since then I have worked with those in hospice, bereavement, mental health, and community settings. I provide a non-judgmental and safe environment where individuals are encouraged to share their story in new ways, connect to their resiliency, embrace their creativity, build upon their strengths, and find new meanings and opportunities for fulfillment.

Lynda Leslie, LCSW

I am a wife, mom, grandmother and friend to name a few of the many hats I wear outside of the office.   I work well with those who have problems in living as well as family and relationship issues.  I am strong in working with couples who need some fine tuning in their relationships and I easily journey with those who are depressed or anxious.  I also treat children using play therapy techniques.  For many years I have worked with individuals and groups of women who have experienced sexual abuse.  I am well versed in anger management and domestic violence as I have been facilitating these types of groups for 12 years. Both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Social Work are from VCU.

It is my belief that in therapy the client is in charge and we work as a team to accomplish a goal.  I am an eclectic therapist; however I most often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  My goal is to keep the client in charge of their own recovery and I totally believe and support every individual’s desire for self determination.

Joanne Moore Paek, LPC, CEDS

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and obtained my BS in Psychology from the
University of Maryland and my MS in Mental Health Counseling from Longwood
University.

I offer counseling services to adolescents and adults struggling with depression, anxiety
and eating disorders. I have a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding
eating disorders and help guide clients towards healthier relationships with food, body
image and self-esteem. I also work with caregivers and families who have a loved one
diagnosed with an eating or mood disorder where this has provoked excessive stress
within the family system.

I work to build a safe, trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship with clients as I
believe this creates conditions for positive change to occur.  I feel everyone brings their
own unique story to counseling and to honor each client’s journey I use an eclectic
approach to treatment using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical
Behavioral Therapy, Family Based Treatment, Reality Therapy and Motivational
Interviewing.

I met the credentialing standards to become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist
(CEDS) in 2024 and also serve as a board member of the Richmond Chapter of the
International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).
